Reports of Padel's death are greatly exaggerated
Bloomberg recently reported that Padel's bubble was 'close to bursting' due to the aggressive investment in courts, infrastructure and service offerings, without an equitable pipeline of players or media rights. I disagree. It is far to early in the cycle to make these straight-up investment assumptions, particularly as the sport is yet to mature, and because it clearly doesn't conform to a classic model of TV driving sponsorship and participation. It's an internet age property that is yet to expand into a more 'democratic' marketplace - and, IMHO, the physical courts are yet to realise value outside of their current 'match booking' model.
